Unfortunately to some, Bubba The Love Sponge® is still a "thing" in this area and remains relevant and newsworthy.  If you read my previous blog post on here, you probably had enough of the rant already but then Bubba The Love Sponge® popped up in the media again.

Bubba The Love Sponge® is now accused of ratings tampering.  No way! King Bubba?  To Bubba The Love Sponge®, his presence on-the-air seemed to be all about popularity and that he's #1 everywhere.  Higher ratings bring in higher ad revenues.  To some, it also boosts the ego and "nah nah nah" when talking about other radio hosts in your time slot.  And Bubba The Love Sponge® made it his daily mission, on-air and on his social media outlets, to promote himself and his #1 status.  If you follow him, he is (was) a radio God.  And his "army" hangs on his every word - and possibly on other parts of Bubba's body.  But these recent accusations, the ratings tampering investigation by Nielsen and Beasley Broadcast Group, may have finally shut him up.  As the investigation is continuing, it is unclear if Beasley will keep him on their station, WBRN-FM, which was reformatted in February around Bubba's personality and called "Bubba 98/7, No Rules Radio".

You can read about this on the New York Daily News website.  Yes it gained attention, which continues to drive Bubba The Love Sponge®.  Good or bad, the publicity keeps him relevant.
